FIRE MARSHAL (WARDEN) COURSE
At the end of the 4 hour course attendees will have a greater understanding and awareness of the following subjects:
- Legal requirements for fire safety training
- Role of a fire marshal
- Common causes of fire
- Fire prevention measures
- Hazard spotting
- Auditing fire safety measures
- Basic fire science and combustion
- Building design and fire protection measures including operation of the fire alarm and the purpose of fire-resisting doors
- Implementing the premises emergency plan including effective and safe evacuation procedures
- Human behaviour in fires
- Contacting the Fire and Rescue Service
- The purpose of fire drills
- Selection and safe use of portable fire extinguishers
- Taking the knowledge into the home environment
