FIRE MARSHAL (WARDEN) COURSE

At the end of the 4 hour course attendees will have a greater understanding and awareness of the following subjects:

Role of a fire marshal
Common causes of fire
Fire prevention measures
Hazard spotting
Auditing fire safety measures
Basic fire science and combustion
Building design and fire protection measures including operation of the fire alarm and the purpose of fire-resisting doors
Implementing the premises emergency plan including effective and safe evacuation procedures
Human behaviour in fires
Contacting the Fire and Rescue Service
The purpose of fire drills
Selection and safe use of portable fire extinguishers
Taking the knowledge into the home environment
